The Righteous One, Our Refuge (Psalm 34)––A Prayer
Your eyes, O Lord, are toward the righteous––
Those who find refuge in the Righteous One.
You, O Lord, are worthy of praise;
All our days we want to join Christ––
Humbled, magnifying your greatness.
We exalt your name.
Out of his pain, Christ cried to you;
Removing his shame, you delivered.
You rescue those who fear you;
We seek you, and you save.
We have tasted and seen the goodness of God;
Blessed are those who take refuge in you.
Help us seek you and fear you,
For those who do lack no good thing.
Your eyes, O Lord, are toward the righteous––
Those who find refuge in the Righteous One.
You hate evil doers,
And you will cut off their memory from the face of the earth.
But you save those who look to you;
You deliver the brokenhearted and the crushed.
For our sake Christ’s afflictions were great,
Yet you did not break even one of his bones.
You will slay the wicked who hate your Son,
But you will not condemn the one who takes refuge in him.
Let us bless you, O Lord, all our days.
May your praise continually be in our mouth.
We hear of your greatness, your mercy;
We are humbled, and we rejoice in your salvation.
Your eyes, O Lord, are toward the righteous.
Let us find refuge in the Righteous One.
