God has called fathers to train their children to treasure the Lord. And if fathers don’t disciple their children, someone or something else will steal that role. Worldly influencers, movies, apps, Facebook, Snapchat, and many other instruments all want to shape our children’s worldviews. But God has designed fathers to work with mothers to guide their children away from loving the world. Fathers must help children shape lives that are radically God-centered––to value what God values and hate what God hates (Deut 6:4–9). Fathers must help their children break the natural bent towards self-centeredness by pointing them to the all satisfying Savior.
