STAY PLUGGED INTO THE POWER, OR THE LIGHT WILL NOT BE ON!
A Pastoral Charge from Romans 1:16
One of the great promises in Scripture is Jesus’s declaration, “I will build my church” (Matt 16:18), and one of the great joys of my ministry is getting to participate in the equipping of new shepherds that God is raising up to serve and protect his people. In the attached message, I give a pastoral charge to one of Bethlehem’s recent seminary graduates. Nick Roen serves as Pastor for Worship at Sojourners Church in Albert Lea, MN, and he himself is a living testimony to the power of the gospel. My charge to him at his installation and ordination was from Rom 1:16, where Paul writes, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also the Greek.” The thesis for the 15 minute message was, “Stay plugged into the power, or the light will not be on!” I invite you to listen in. . . .
